Alicia graduated from NTU in 2002 with a BS in chemistry. Her undergraduate research focused on the synthesis, application and characterization of mesoporous materials. She joined the AC group in the fall of 2004 and finished her master thesis under the guidance of Prof. Dr. H. J. Deiseroth. Her thesis focused on the characterization of polymer-clay nanocomposites. Currently, her project, as a PhD student, involves investigation of argyrodites using both solid state and hydrothermal methods. Lithium tin sulphide, Li4SnS4, was found as the main product by solid state reaction in the course of lithium argyrodite investigation. The existance and the powder analysis of the lithium argyrodite, Li7PS6, was first reported by Brice in 1976. During our investigation, we were able to measure a single crystal of this compound at room temperature. She was born in Taiwan but has also lived in Argentina (during teenage). In her spare time, she enjoys reading books (non-chemistry) and taking pictures while traveling. |
