Luminescence Amplification of Transition Metals by Divalent Lanthanide Ions
Transition metal ions, especially Mn2+ and Mn4+, have interesting luminescence properties, which justify their importance in different application ranges. However, the emission of the parity forbidden d-d transitions is usually weak. This problem is solved with aid of a strong Ln2+ excitation combined with an efficient energy transfer to the transition metal ion. Especially our systems with Eu2+, Yb2+ and Mn2+ ions present very interesting results in this field.
