Impact of Estradiol on bacterial biofilms
This study investigates whether the estradiol sex hormone, whose blood serum concentrations are significantly fluctuating within the female cycle and during pregnancy, has a regulatory influence on the development of bacterial biofilms. The results are intended to contribute to the understanding of biofilm related infectious diseases with gender-specific differences referring to pathogenesis.
